Who receives the early-start pension?

For children, the federal government plans the early-start pension. Under it, the state pays €10 a month into an account for children from their 6th to their 18th birthday, starting with the 2020 birth cohort. The entitlement can later be transferred to your own retirement savings account, but this does not happen automatically. Anyone who is already at secondary school today does not receive the early-start pension.

How the early-start pension calculator works
  • The gross return minus the costs gives the annual return after costs. A monthly rate is calculated from it.
  • Every month the money grows at this rate, and then the state payment (and your additional payment) is added. After the payments end, the account only grows.
  • The costs are the difference to the same account without costs.
  • The range shows two further cases with costs: an unfavourable one with 3 percentage points less return and a favourable one with 2 percentage points more.
  • Return and costs stay the same over the whole time. Taxes and inflation are not included.
  • Your entries are not saved and not transmitted.
