Frankfurt am Main, 15 October 2026
StartKapital, the education programme of the Bundesverband der Börsenvereine an deutschen Hochschulen (BVH) e.V., is one of the 100 initiatives that startsocial supports with an advisory scholarship in the 2026/27 round. They were selected from around 340 applications from all over Germany. From 2 November 2026 to 28 February 2027, two volunteer coaches from the business world will accompany the StartKapital team. It starts on 4 November with a kick-off meeting. The nationwide competition startsocial is under the patronage of the Federal Chancellor.
StartKapital brings basic financial education to where the first money decisions of one’s own come up. The eight modules cover budgeting, pay and taxes, debt, insurance, saving and retirement provision. They are free of charge and come without product recommendations. Since the start in summer 2026, the volunteer team has been at work at universities, schools and vocational schools, presented the programme at the trade fair FINANCE26 in Frankfurt and reached more than 2,000 participants.
Over the next four months the team will meet the coaches regularly. The focus is on funding the programme, winning teachers and volunteers, and robust impact measurement. startsocial also offers workshops and exchange with the other scholarship holders.
“We are delighted about the scholarship and grateful for the trust. Together with our coaches we now want to put StartKapital on a solid financial footing and win more teachers and volunteers who teach the programme themselves. Our aim is to strengthen young people’s financial competence lastingly, regardless of their family background,” says Nils Behrens, co-initiator of StartKapital.
StartKapital congratulates all the other initiatives that received a scholarship this year and looks forward to exchanging ideas with them. startsocial publishes an overview of all 100 scholarship holders at startsocial.de.
